Annotate a PDF in your browser — no upload, no tracking

Highlight passages, add comments and draw shapes on any PDF file — entirely in your browser, in seconds, without sending your document to any server.

→ Try it free — no sign-up

Whether you are reviewing a contract, marking up a research paper, or leaving feedback on a report, annotating a PDF should be fast and private. Most online tools upload your file to a remote server — exposing potentially sensitive content to third parties. iSharePDF works differently: every annotation happens locally in your browser using the PDF.js rendering engine, so your file never leaves your device. You get 5 free tasks per day with no account required, and a Pro plan (€4.99/month or €39/year) for unlimited use.

Why local PDF annotation is safer and faster

How to annotate a PDF with iSharePDF — 5 steps

  1. Open the tool. Go to /app/tools/annotate or click the Chrome extension icon while a PDF is open in your browser.
  2. Load your file. Drag and drop your PDF onto the canvas, or click "Open file" to browse your device. No size limit is enforced client-side for most standard documents.
  3. Choose an annotation type. Select from the toolbar: highlight (yellow, green, pink), text comment, freehand drawing, or shape (rectangle, arrow). Click or drag on the page to apply.
  4. Edit or delete annotations. Click any existing annotation to reposition it, change its colour, edit the comment text, or remove it entirely — changes are reflected instantly.
  5. Download the annotated PDF. Click "Save" to export a standard PDF with your annotations baked in. Share it by email or upload it wherever you need — it opens correctly in any PDF reader.
